Frazee First Graders Plant 300 Trees

What do you get with 90 Frazee first graders plus 20 volunteers plus 16 shovels plus a water truck? Three-hundred freshly planted white and red pine seedlings! After Ranger Kelly Blackledge led students through an exercise of slurping, gurgling and pretending to be trees and volunteer Jon Neumann showed them how to plant, the kids dug holes and carefully planted their baby trees. The students also got to see the movie, “The Lorax” and take a hike to “Meet the Trees.”
