Mowing of the invasive Tansy has been completed in some areas on the refuge. This plant was introduced to the US from Europe for medicinal and horticultural purposes. It degrades wildlife habitat and hinders reforestation. Thanks to Luverne Ehnert for mowing some fields before seeds could mature and be dispersed. Also thanks goes out the Steve Sox and Mark Geihl for marking pine seedlings to prevent them from being mowed.
