The new observation deck on Blackbird lake along the autotour was federally funded, but constructed through volunteer labor. Workers include David Anderson, Ron Jenson, Allen Turcott, Brad Bremer, Dean Mcbride, Neal Engbloom, and Josh Hiltwein. Featured here are a collection of photos of the construction work on August 7, 11, and 14. The photos in this collection were taken by Denis Mudderman (the webmaster) who couldn't be on hand when construction was completed so the finished deck photo was taken on the next day. Benches and signs still need to be added. The grand opening of the deck will take place at the Fall Open House September 30.
