About the event
Curious about the many interesting mushrooms you see while hiking at Tamarac? Already an expert forager but want to learn more about fungal biology and diversity? Join us at the Discovery Center on Sunday, September 14th from 1-4 pm for a workshop all about local fungi. The workshop will consist of an hour-long talk by mycological expert Peter Martignacco, then a foray into the woods of Tamarac to look for edible fungi. The foraging location is about a 10-minute walk from the Discovery Center, and there will be a little over an hour for foraging. Bring water, camera, notebook, and bug spray. Long pants and sturdy closed-toe shoes are recommended.
Cost: $20
Funds go to the Friends of Tamarac to cover the cost of the workshop. Class size is limited to 25 participants.
