Friends of Tamarac operating expenses are supported by our donors and members. We have multiple ways to help support our projects and our environmental education program that hosts multiple area schools and families giving hundreds of children access to nature.

The "Friends of Tamarac Legacy Fund," officially named "Friends of Tamarac: A Lasting Legacy," is an endowment fund established by the Friends of Tamarac to provide perpetual support for educational programs and enhancements at Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) allowing supporters to include the refuge in their estate planning for long-term impact. Managed with West Central Initiative, this fund supports volunteer-led environmental education, new trails, picnic areas, and other projects that benefit the refuge and its visitors.

Purpose: To create a sustainable funding source for Tamarac NWR's educational mission, ensuring its activities continue indefinitely.

Projects Supported: Funds go towards children's Wild Wednesdays, family programs, creating accessible trails (like the Eagle Eye picnic area), and adding interpretive signage.
