Auto Tour Stop #4: Bald Eagles at Tamarac. As you drive along the shores of Blackbird Lake, watch for bald eagles perched in trees above the water's edge or flying over the area. Tamarac is home to many pairs of bald eagles. They prefer to nest in large trees near lakes, where food such as fish, waterfowl and coots are readily available. The Otter Tail River runs through the middle of the lake.
