Friends of Tamarac's annual meeting was fantastic! We hosted the event at the VFW in Detroit Lakes. The cozy Banquet Hall served us well for a night of music, food, captivating stories, and laughter.
Harp music from the talented harpist Tammie Jenson serenaded us throughout the night. The beautiful and relaxing music set the tone for a wonderful meal shared among great people.
A highlight of the night, we listened to Ojibwe storytelling by Mike Swan. The stories Mike told engaged everyone present. Each story provided a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the Ojibwe people. It was both entertaining and enlightening, making it a truly memorable experience.
The meeting part of the night. Board President Bill Henke took a moment to express his gratitude. He then passed the reigns to incoming President Val Alland. Bill and Val thanked everyone, especially volunteers, for their hard work. The dedication of our volunteers made possible the many fun-filled events at the refuge and around town last year.
We couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate our achievements and strengthen our bonds.
Thanks to everyone who joined us and made the evening so special. We can't wait to do it all again next year!
