Not all great photographs make good desktop pictures since you still need to be able to see any icons on your desktop. Select the image size above that is closest to your screen setting. The easiest way to set up the photo on your desktop with Microsoft Windows is to click the link above for on the image that best fits your screen, when the photo appears click your right mouse botton and select "Set as background."
The photographs are uncompressed 24-bit jpgs. That is to say, the photos have all the color and quality as it was photographed. Photos generally on a website are resized and compressed so that they load up on your computer in a reasonable time - even if you have a dial-up connection. Resized and compressed photos also take much less server space, so we won't be able to offer very many desktop photos at one time.
