Collect Native Seeds While Saving our Trees!

September 24, 2016  – 9 AM – 3 PM – Visitor Center

Join naturalists in the field for bud-capping trees on National Public Lands Day to help save 15,000+ red, white, and jack pine seedlings from deer browse. Learn about pine and prairie habitat, restoration efforts, and benefits of bud-capping trees while collecting native seeds.

  • Bring a water bottle, wear long pants and sturdy shoes, and pack snacks for the day. Extra water is available.
  • Meet at the Tamarac Refuge Visitor Center (address below).
  • Pre-register or show up with a lunch for the dayNational Public Lands Day is more than a day to enjoy our public lands. It is a day to remember why we preserved public lands in the first place. Help save the seedlings!
