North Country Trail Gathering at Discovery Center

The North Country Trail gathering on Friday at Tamarac’s Discovery Center was a complete success—we made many friends from 17 states across the upper tier of the US.  Also loads of fairly local people that had never been to Tamarac came to walk.  170 people in all enjoyed Tamarac’s NCT trails.  Hikers represent individuals from 17 states of all ages. Hikes ranged in length from 2 miles to 13.5 miles.

Mark Weaver of the National Park Service was here—he had donated to our Discovery Center when he was here for the grand opening of the trail, and he was happy to see our beautiful facility.

John made more coffee than ever thought possible and they devoured the huge amount of food that we brought.  Many thanks to Cathie Ferguson, Linda Brockmann and Fran Mattson for bringing home made goodies.

All the expert trail leaders were Tamarac folks.

Our visitors were very thankful for the hospitality, treats and the use of the Discovery Center.
