Ron Jenson is Concluding His Terms


Ron Jenson is concluding his board terms for Friends of Tamarac, eight years of which he has served as president of the group. He has given thousands of volunteer hours to support the needs of Tamarac Wildlife refuge. He spearheaded the process of turning a vision of adding an education building into the reality of the Discovery Center, which has been gifted to the Fish and Wildlife Services from the Friends of Tamarac. He initiated this major fund raising project, which was in excess of $600,000 with the Friends of Tamarac group. He coordinated the building project between contractors and Fish and Wildlife Services.

In addition he has worked with school groups, participated in committee work, done event planning, completed building projects, and drove tractor for trail maintenance. He has done it all with his cheerful smile that reflects his commitment to nature and building that love of the outdoors in the youth who will be the future caretakers of our environment. He was given the prestigious Silver Eagle Award by the Fish and Wildlife Services to acknowledge their appreciation of his years of outstanding service.
