The Friends of Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge, Inc. provides opportunities for children and families to ‘unplug’ from busy, technology-filled lives and make meaningful connections with nature. They make connections with over 3,000 student visits per year and even more families, sharing the social and natural ecological systems of Tamarac’s habitat – growing generations of stewards for our natural resources. The Friends are pleased to announce that the vision of completing the Discovery Center in early 2015 has been reached. It is the center of education, exploration and connecting with nature in order to maintain and expand the outdoor education program, habitat enhancements and citizen science projects. The Friends of Tamarac continues to need financial support for its mission.
